A well-established boutique agency located in suburban Philadelphia is seeking a Digital/Social Media Buyer to join the media buying team. Our agency has been in existence for 20+ years and is highly regarded by clients for our customized & personalized work. The Digital/Social Media Buyer is accountable for achieving the client’s strategic brand and business objectives within digital marketing. This position is responsible for the successful management of digital strategy for client brands. The role requires an innovator, a trendsetter, and a progressive thinker who can communicate and broaden brand messages through digital interactions to drive growth and build consumer loyalty. The Digital/Social Media Buyer answers key questions such as how brands are communicated and experienced through digital interactions, and how digital interactions fit into broader customer experiences.

Responsibilities/Principle Accountabilities:

  • Manages research to acquire insights into consumer online behavior and key motivational/attitudinal behavior to develop total understanding of online target audience and mindset modes
  • Participates in development and management of effective integrated media plans and buys under the supervision of the CEO
  • Develops objectives, strategies, plans and presentations
  • Creates and manages media partner RFP process
  • Maintains media plans including changes, execution, reporting, optimization
  • Develops strong, trusting relationships between clients and agency
  • partners, providing leadership and support during strategy, ideation, and execution
  • Executes all digital plans in third party trackers (must be proficient in creating and assigning tag creation)
  • Ensures account and creative team is apprised of changes to the placements by producing the Creative and Specs Worksheet
  • Stays apprised of industry standards, new media programs/opportunities and can advise on innovative ways to reach targets
  • Evaluates media opportunities and presents media plans and/or POV’s clearly in writing and orally
  • Analyzes web metrics, provides campaign effectiveness reports to clients, and recommends optimizations when appropriate to improve media performance

Knowledge & Skills:

  •  Excellent understanding of online media planning, implementation and optimizations
  • Is passionate, articulate and can craft a compelling case/recommendation
  • Understands how digital fits in the overall client marketing/media strategy
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to relate results to client business objectives, providing a basis for measurement of the digital activities
  • Proficient in using standard online media research and tools (e.g. Nielsen NetRatings, DoubleClick, etc.)
  • Exceptional organization and communication skills to work closely and build relationships with account, creative, PR/SMM teams
  • Must be a proactive problem solver
  • Ability to work with modest and large media budgets
  • Passion for the digital space from gaming, mobile, social networking, niche and B2B sites, online video, and everything in between


  •  2-4 years of agency experience; 3+ years media planning experience
  • Strong mathematical abilities required
  • Detail oriented and proficient at managing projects and able to multi-task, organize, prioritize and structure workload
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills as well as proven ability to develop well-written documents and presentations
  • Traditional media experience preferred but not necessary
